usually i wear baggy jeans because beeing 6"6 finding any jeans that feel like they properly fit is almost impossible, my wife has slowly wore me down over the years with comments such as "jim royal jeans" they are jeans like jim from the royal family FFS! they are slightly baggy jeans

anyway she forced me to buy some "straight leg" jeans after wandering around for what seemed like forever trying to find sizes to try on i had to settle for a
40Waist 32leg (the biggest size i could find on the high street)
! im not a size 40 waist! im a 36!

the 36/32 i tried on i couldnt even pull up above my thighs its as if they measure a person of average height and get sizes from him then just scale them up which obviously just doesnt work unless you have drain pipe legs!

so i buy a few pairs of 40W 32L because they have no 34L in the biggest size they sell WTF?

you can get 36/34 , 38 /34 but only 40w 32l?

the legs are long enough anyway i just would have liked a bit more give! i can get them on and they dont look all that bad but they dont look anywhere near as good as someone of around 5"8 would look in a pair for his size and i feel demotivated! i know they dont look it but it feels like im wearing a set of one of madges leggings and i have a bulging area around my crotch which kinda looks like i stuck something down there!

if i had an extra half 1/3 of an inch of give around my thighs and crotch they would probably feel okay but people dont seemt o know how to make clothes for tall people! it really annoys me because its not as if theres only a few of us around and i see the odd bloke who is atleast 2 inches above me.

i can only see it getting worse as i look at the kids of today and you see teenagers wearing what could pass as girls jeans and they have imaculate long hair like a bloody women

your a weird size

buy jeans from a shop that sells weird sized stuff or get your baggy ones altered

cant blame the cheap high street shops for only selling the popular and more normal sizes !

erm, some clothes are just look better when you lose some weight, you just got to accept that.

a year ago i wore 36/30 jeans, now i can get into 31/30. It's just a fact of life that jeans look better when you are thinner.

at 6ft 6 a 36" waist is hardly overweight...

he just has freakishly short legs for height by sound of it :p im only 5,10 with 32" leg :o

im within bmi tolerance of ideal weight! (at the far end though)

You can get some longer leg sizes if you shop online rather than the high street. Might be worth a punt, you can always return them if they don't fit as well as you'd like.

I'm not an expert but surely your waist doesn't necessarily get bigger the taller you are?

@OP try some online clothes retailers, I find you get much better range of sizes there than on the high street.

I'm 6"6' and 36" waist and I don't have a problem. 36/34 works fine for me and I don't have drainpipe legs. I normally just go with 'straight leg' jeans. So if you're 36" waist then try out a pair of 36" jeans! No need to jump up to 40"

i find that i have top buy a larger waist because my thighs are too wide :o

I just want the god-damn things to be wide around the thighs without having a foot of slack around the waist :o

i wear my jeans low on my hips, under my stomach level so even if i drink too much and get a fat stomach. My stomach will just hang over my trousers. So this way you can keep the same size trousers but you end up getting a hang in the trousers because of the way they make them.

But i find that all the clothes are made for homosexuals and children these days, going into debenhams male section, it looks like a homosexual shop with all the tight clothes and bright colours, i know it is summer but that is ridiculous.

I thought that the homosexuals are all designing the clothes so they obviously like the tight pants so they design them that way. I miss baggie trousers, now when i wear my baggie trousers people laugh at me and call me MC hammer. This one lady said i looked like a rapper becaues i had baggie pants and hoodie. :/

I sort of know what he means, I'm 6'2 and spent a fair bit of time in the gym, even though I'm comfortably only a 34 waist quite often I have to buy 36 jeans so their is enough space around the thigh that I don't look like I'm wearing leggings, sometimes even 36 doesn't have enough room. A friend of mine who works as a pattern cutter for a wedding dress maker says it's general problem in most clothes, they design the clothes for one particular size then use a table of scaling factors to produce other sizes, numbers that are very out of date and not based on actual anatomy.

I feel your pain... I struggle putting on most regular trousers - have to buy much bigger waist size and have the waist brought in so I can fit my legs in, but not be too loose around the wist. It's the price you pay for strength and power! :D

Wait I think you might be serious :o

I'm also 6'6" and have massive problems finding jeans that fit on the high street (I'm slightly more than a 34" inside leg though).
I'd highly recommend shopping online with Timberland - their sizes are certainly generous (I'm usually a 38"w on the high street), but could most likely fit into their 36"w. Their jeans are also very well made too, but generally not cheap though.

I also struggle with jeans - I have a large build in general, but my thighs are like tree trunks. I can fit jeans around the waist just fine and they're long enough, but the stopping point is always the thighs. I find the only place where I can find good fit jeans every time I go there, is Marks & Spencers.

I'm also 6'6" I find tescos is about the only place that does jeans which will fit me. I'm a 38" waist, but I buy 40's becuase I like more room to breathe.

Even online shops are rubbish I bought some jeans off premier man, in my usual size 40w 36l. Couldn't get then past my calfs, the legs were stick thin, it's ridiculous, sent them back for a refund the day I recieved them.

It'd be nice to have a couple of different pairs of jeans, all i've got at the moment are your average boring denim jeans.

I'm 6ft 8" with a 42" waist and I get my jeans from a couple of places. BigTallOrder and Walktall. At 6ft 6" with a 36" waist you are slim! This is why you struggle, not because of your height. I had a 36" waist when I was at school.

this for the love of all that is holy, i can fit in a 36" waist but have to wear 38" because of my shapely thighs!
