Why are most motorists so unable to accept criticism of their driving ?

I do all those except the bad parking, you have to be really useless to walk away from a badly parked car (unless you are a girl, because you can blame it on hormones or small hands).

I can`t help wondering if my definition of bad parking differs from yours. To me bad parking is not an inability to park exactly 1" parallel to the curb, bad parking, or indeed bad driving, is parking (or driving) which negatively affects anyone else, or could negatively affect someone else*. Bad parking to me would be some git parking across my drive, or a vehicle being parked on the pavement so pedestrians have to walk out into the road to get past, that kind of thing.

But for the purposes of this thread what really interests me is people`s reaction to their bad parking being pointed out to them.

* This obviously excludes someone wanting to do anything illegal, but that`s still consistent anyway, because someone doing something illegal would, by definition, negatively affect someone else.

If you`re just browsing our site out of a general interest in RF reception you`re more than welcome, although you`re obviously even more welcome if you actually

buy something from us !

However, to be frank,

those using our site, discovering they need to

buy something, and then buying it elsewhere,

are a little bit less welcome.

Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that using a grave accent as an apostrophe is incorrect :p

I£vw decided from now on@ I£m going to use pound signs instead of apostrophes and @s instead of commas. I£m quite liking the apostrophe - people still get what I£m saying and it's bling@ innit.

As I was saying, coincidentally the wife`s just phoned to say she`s got home from the supermarket with a boot full of groceries, there`s no where to park on the road, and some selfish imbecile has parked right across our drive....
Now whether or not he (or she) has parked exactly 0.5 inches parallel to the curb, that is bad parking

I think it's because everyone is a great driver, heel and toeing, left foot braking and drifting round the roundabouts on their way to the weekly shop.

I think it's people crossing the road that are the real danger here.

I am a fairly new driver, less than 5 years experience, and I will admit my own faults, I do agree other people don't, but I do.
The first one is, the speed limit, I don't know why I do it, but if there's a 40Mph limit, I go 50Mph, but the thing is, I don't do it in built up areas (houses either side of the road.)
The second is I am impatient, There's a road near me, speed limit is 40mph, so why do cars do 25-30mph? I get angry and drive past them, not like a looney though.

It's just the little things that get me, and driving instructors, don't even get me started.

My view on it is, no one is a 'good' driver.

Oh god he's back pontificating....

Pontificating, is that saying what you think about subjects you feel strongly about ?
Maybe it`s better not to say anything about subjects you`re not bothered about ?
Difficult choice........

Whatever the answer to this, anyone who parks across someones drive, or even right across the pavement where people have to walk (or push a pram), is an ****hole. At least we can all agree about that, surely.

I think you`re right, plus the fact people are in their own little space, which tends to make them (and I include myself in this) more anti social...

It's massively a testosterone thing.

Only this morning on my way to work there was a guy in a Land Rover in the outside lane of the dual carriageway not overtaking. Testosterones take over and I make myself present that I wish to get by. However Land Rover guy thought he was in the right and applied the brake pedal, he actually applied it so hard the front of his car practically did a nose dive. After the 3rd nose dive I had enough and my testosterone levels were through the roof.

I pulled off what can only be describes as the best manoeuvre of all time. Anticipating Land Rovers next hard brake into nose dive, I switched into the inside lane, he broke, and I easily went past on the inside lane and then back into the outside lane on my merry way. Of course after this my testosterone levels were at an all time high, to the point I was ready to do battle with every single UFC fighter, and I was definitely the best driver in the world...

2 minutes later after my levels had came back to normal, I realised what a colossal **** I had been.

And I'm sure every man on here has been in a similar situation...
