the roads around here seem to be awful at the moment. the golf lost its sideways virginity yesterday (oversteers pretty well actually lol)

what causes the roads to get like this? is it because it has been really cold over the last week or so?

yeah lots of salt on the roads on the moment

ive had to wash my cars about 3 times this week, just to be able to open the doors without getting my hands filthy

mine has somehow done about 250 miles this week (i swear i bearly drive it lol) and it is absolutely filthy.

the roads feel so slippery, but are not icy, so i put it down to being "greasey"

i want it to rain again

My girlfriends car started off silver at the beginning of the week its now more of a dirt colour. The traction control is getting a bit of a work out lately as well. Understeer on a busy roundabout is not nice

I've been taking it easy on the bike because the roads are so crappy.

It's probably the moisture from this mist sapping the grease up from the road to the surface. My car is filthy atm too, need to clean the number plate because it's getting hard to see now :p

Yep the roads are bad at the moment, i've been going sideways round corners that i've never been sideways round before....

Not that thats a bad thing you understand....... :p

i was really suprised at how managable the golf was when youre broadside. really smooth transitions, but im not really a fan of oversteering FF cars.

no rain forcast here for days

maybe its that new type of salt there putting on roads, afaik they stopped using it but some areas might still be using it, apparantly it was dirt cheap pardon the pun :p , compared to salts they have used in past years.

glad its not just me then lol wondered for a minute if someone could have pinched my eagles and swapped them for remoulds.... then i realised i couldnt hear the radio over the tyre noise so i must have had my eagles on

i to have to take it very careful when pulling out junctions or getting my foot down in 1st or second anything over 2k revs in 1st pulling out normally results in a little wheelspin and i have eagles fitted on the front :o

It is dangerous out there i've had the odd wobble here and there and its so easy to wheelspin without trying quite frightening. also you can see the shine on the road surface.

salt slime, its lethal...

especially on a bike..

PS. it comes from rock salt, its full of clay which makes an excellent lubricant as I am sure you know...

Yep, its been pretty slippy out there recently.

Even my mum managed to get the wheels spinning!
