Why are there no good keyboards?

How is it horrible? Its a keyboard? I can type with it so whats the problem?

I bought the enermax aluminium. It's super heavy, I love it. Wouldn't trade it for anything.Nice comfortable typing as well, good tactile feedback. I doing programming as well so I know exactly what you mean, I had an Apple keyboard before that but the key setup annoyed me (even though I'm using one right now at work on an imac).

Anyone want my old Apple keyboard if you're willing to pay postage? That's if I didn't throw it out...

I didnt mean to cause offence andr3w, im just venting my frustration...I apologise.

On another note the enermax looks lovely but its wired and has those god-awfull laptop type keys, or at least it appears to.

There just seems to be no high quality solution that features:

A: proper keys and layout
B: high quality wireless
C: Good looking

I mean, its not rocket science, I could even find a few macro keys usefull if they were placed well, like above the F1-F4 keys, and not acompanied by 'orrible led backlights and pointless other things.

I might end up with some kind of generic £9.99 keyboard at this rate. at least the people who design them dont have enough budget to make them look silly.

I think so, Ive struggled with this prob.

I'm just gona give up and get a wired KB, probably this, £37.50 ic VAT & postage

Dont do it - the keys are really noisy and the space bar feels like its gonna drop off.

Just got myself this and its excellent:

The MX3200 set has a good keyboard but your getting the mouse too.

Thanks for that, But ive seen a simmilar version if "it" in the flesh, and imo its big and gross, and not on my shopping list.
i'm not yet decided, Im also looking at the microsoft reclusa among others.

just get either a saitek exlispe , or the number 2, both brilliant keyboards, ive owned both over the last year, nothing gone wrong, and a few of my mates have purchased on after they have seen mine

yes they are indeed! so nice 2 type on!
this is the keyboard i use, and will always use, i hate the big huge keys on normal computers now!

they is also a wireless one 2:)

I was seriously looking at that advent KB from the men in purple shirts, If it had featured normal keys as opposed to oribble laptop jobbies I would have gone for it. looks nice.

Whats big and gross?

the keyboard is. :D
Its got all that "stuff" stuck to it that just dosent need to be there.

A keyboard should be minimalist, replace any media keys with macro keys, make it as small as poss keeping to standard spec, and its a winner.

unfortunatly they dont seem to exist.

The new one is a lot smaller than the old one.
