Why are there so many

Good Lord, there are lots, probably Bonnie Elizabeth Parker of "Bonnie and Clyde" is the most famous

Yeah Bonnie is a legend. I like these two pics of her the most. The first makes her look a little plain but the second shows she lived up to her name.

avatars here are provided, not chosen. They are set by rank. The theme is set by the forums. It has been this way for a long time, previously the ranks were assigned to different weapons.

If you want overclocking advice, you need to post in the correct forum:

I've been here since 2004 and I don't remember the weapons! But hey ho, learning something new every day :-) The board has always been the same colour though IIRL with the 2 alternating blue colours. That's because I remember in the early days of TFT monitors, dead pixels were common and someone said on here that the dead pixel was evident against one of the shades of blue but not the other.

The guns were on the old forum I think so before 2002 at least.

Yeah, it was the old UBB forum. Forums moved to vBulletin in mid-2001 IIRC.

Then there were a couple of nukes while the kinks got worked out, hence the October 2002 dates for the earliest members.

That sounds like Spie.

Mark Proudfoot IIRC.

Him.

The original owner was called Pete Radford who eventually employed Mark and then a little later they became partners. Since Pete couldn't be bothered Mark bought him out for ridiculously low money and eventually became a multi millionaire.

What was his real name? I used to work on one of the owner's race cars, years ago. Nice chap, he ran a Radical at the time.

You'd have liked him. I remember certain posts got leaked from the moderater only section and it wasn't very flattering....

That's all in the past though. Gibbo, the staff and the mods now are much better.

From my point of view (not working for him) I sat talking with him many times in the shop and he was a really nice bloke however his fingers typed sometimes before engaging his brain:D

Yes, that's the chap, Proudfoot. Nice chap, I wonder if he's still into his motorsport? Not seen him for ages. Thanks.

If you want to post of a forum that has no rules and you can have your own sig and avatar go to www.squatjuice.com

You won't do, he went to Switzerland I think.
I think he had a place there before he sold up and lovely it was too.

OP don't get what OCUK is at all.

Its just banter, bans and stepping over the line sometimes. :D

Its a boys club so to say, women are very welcome as we all like pasties so its a tongue in cheek humor, so to say. ;)

I had one too! I think it was on a Pentium 1 or 2 rig, I never felt it did anything though. It didn't stop me pressing it though.

Originally, "turbo" switched the CPU clock speed between normal and slow, back in 286 days. Manual CPU throttling, essentially. It was still fairly common for software to use the CPU clock for timing, which made it unusable on a PC with a CPU at a higher clock speed unless you reduced it. A button was often put on the case for convenience. It was actually a "slow" button, but calling it "turbo" was far better for marketing purposes. Normal/slow renamed to Turbo/normal.

By the time of the Pentium, the button on the case probably wasn't even connected to anything and wouldn't have done anything if it was.

If your tongue is in cheek when you're eating a pasty, your aim is off :)
