Why are we not allowed medical threads?

There is less tolerance to those subjects. It would be unfair of us to censor opinions, no matter how different, as long as they are presented in a fair way. Most people and threads that behave in the way you have described are generally received by indignation. So I don't see the issue. It does not reflect the opinions of OcUK.
We can if you want censor all of those things you suggest, but I would bet that discussions would become less engaging as the topics become less broad.
As for medical threads - why would you take medical advise off the internet in the first place? To protect not just OcUK but its users from erroneous information it is easier to blanket ban medical advice than to allow either correct or incorrect information to be posted. It could be argued that people should take responsibilities for their decisions and what they read on the internet, but why risk someone having harm come to them when it can be completely avoided.
Just to many headcases to manage.

You misunderstand, they're not allowed because OCUK don't want to deal with some guy suing them because he took medical advice from the forums and then got worse.
