Why aren't I dead/on fire?

Just came home from the gym, and for lunch decided to heat up some chili con carne that was left from the other night. So I scooped it from the tuppaware bowl it was in into a ceramic bowl on a plate using a fork. Then I placed it in the microwave for two minutes and, being the absent minded plonker I am, left the fork sitting in the bowl while I turned around to do some washing up.

Two minutes later, the microwave pinged and I opened the door to realise my mistake. However, nothing was on fire and my kitchen hasn't blown up. Previous experience has taught me that metal + microwaves = major fire hazard, yet I didn't even ehar it crackling while my back was turned. So, OcUK, did I get lucky, or is my fork now quivering with stored microwave energy ready to blow me to smithereens the moment I take a mouthful?

tl;dr - I just accidentally in my microwave, is this bad?

Certain metal doesn't react badly with m/waves. We have a microwave / grill with a metal grill pan and nothing happens when we microwave things with it still inside. I guess certain metal coated in certain things don't have a problem with it.

By the way, microwaving magnums to soften then up, with the foil still on.
Bad idea, i did it once, went crazy and melted to the magnum, when i peeled it off the magnum was still icy.
