Hi

i have noticed a bunch of places selling mac's online. I was wondering why anyone would buy from one of those sites rather than the apple site itself. Prices look the same to me..

I work at a reseller. If you're a student, we can't match Apple, but if you're not, we can put in little sweeteners that Apple can't, like we'll give you a case for your Macbook or might knock a little bit off if you buy a couple of macs, or some money off some accessories or somesuch.

So for a regular person wanting a macbook, we can give you something they can't. Our staff are as good as Apple's (I worked for Apple for 18 months as a specialist then a creative) as well. :D

Ah ok - thanks.
My brother is a student so i guess ill use the apple website then. Thanks for the info though.

There's a very large UK computer site, which I can't mention as it's a competitor, which has the Imac I want about 5% cheaper than apple, and has applecare for just over half the price.

Entry level Imac and applecare @ apple - £1,130
Entry level Imac and applecare @ competitor - £1,012

Only thing is you may find resellers selling off the older stock. For example with the recent update to the Macbook to the Macbook Pro.

And what PardonTheWait said. ;)
