Why can't I stream music?!?

Hi guys

I have 2 laptops, Macbook Pro Retina 2015 and a Lenovo windows laptop mid 2015.

Sound setup is Yamaha RXV679 av receiver connected to my 2.4 ghz wifi
I also have a NEET Airplay box from amazon (2.4ghz wifi connection) upstairs to an old amp

The laptops Connect to the 5ghz (But 2.4ghz doesn't make a difference)

The router is a virgin media super hub 2

I am using iTunes (apple music)

Problem is I just cannot stream music perfectly, songs cut out and break up after 15 - 30 seconds then back to normal and over and over.... obviously very annoying and totally unacceptable in 2016 - Even over bluetooth its still far from perfect but much better then wifi.

Any Ideas - I am thinking either iTunes is rubbish or the virgin router is rubbish

Are you able to temporarily plug some Ethernet cables into a laptop to router and the receiver to router and test, this should give you an idea if it's the WiFi or the router causing the issue.

Never saw my typo haha
Fixed it using the wired connection, when I went into a competitor today to buy a switch and told them I have the virgin router they giggled and said the wifi on it is rubbish
