Why can't some people talk properly?

My argument/point is that i think it's rude to pull a minor gramma/spelling mistake & publicly try to embarrass a poster about it & because you are so well educated you should know & behave better than this.

I think a lot of people got the wrong end of the stick about the first post here. The question wasn't "why can't some people write better?" but "why don't they care about writing better?" And why do some people purposely take the time to mangle the tongue they speak by writing awkwardly?

Do i take the **** out of the posts i think are stupid ? I mean i can strip a car to nuts & washers can you ? Would i take the **** out of someone who cannot change a clutch or made a minor mistake in there description of the problem. Of course i wouldn't, i wouldn't be so Rude so why is it acceptable to rip someones poor spelling or gramma.

I think the point is that some people choose to wantonly ignore grammar and spelling improvements. I'm not trying to be rude because I am genuinely interested, but do you not notice when people spell things differently to you and you're the only one spelling them a certain way [i.e. gramma/grammar]?

Sorry for what? why are you apologysing? **** all grammar NaTzis.

I think the grammar nazis may be doing something useful though. Pulling someone's post apart is obviously unconstructive, but on the other hand people can learn about improvements if the corrections are presented - and if they choose to learn from them. I admit that sometimes the annoying presence of the nazis may be enough for people to ignore them altogether though.

For instance, I hate it when I'm at the computer with someone else and they say "you could have performed that function far quicker by doing XXX". It really annoys me. But it's through things like that that I've learned more commands.

I don't mind genuine grammatical errors or just casual typing errors, but some people just take the urine at times.

Also, there's always the preview and edit buttons. In fact I have just edited this post three times already. :o

No honestly i do not notice. I have a memory like a Goldfish mate so i can't remember how you spelt whatever it is i am about to write. I don't think about spelling & gramma i think about cars, bikes, women & systems.
What can i say i am a basic kind of guy. Remember though it's these kinds of guys that take your rubbish away or fix your car so try to have manners i say rather than trying to belittle them.

I don't think I can carry on reading this thread without posting this:

I've been going in and out of these forums for a few months now and one thing I've noticed is the amount of people who can't seem to string a sentence together properly. In fact, it's not restricted to this forum alone - there is a fair amount of people in general who don't have that much of a grasp on the fundemantals of English.

My 'beef' is not necessarily that some people can't do it [because I imagine some people are dyslexic or can't understand certain grammatical rules] but that some won't. There seem to be people who just don't care about what they're writing - if things are misspelled, grammatically inaccurate etc. I think this is a strange thing.. why don't some people care about how they're writing? It's the only way that people on forums will have an idea of what kind of person you are, you may as well try to make it favourable.

i think you should stop masturbating, then you would stop comparing how good you are, to how bad others are.

btw its 'fundamentals'

Apologizing :p ;)

Because sometimes my posts are a bit slack with spelling and grammar and it obviously annoys people :).

Woosh!

I know but some people just take the whole thing like it is their gospel.

Yes yes we've been through this already, I made a typo. I wasn't comparing how 'good' I am to anyone. I also don't like to pull people apart who make spelling errors in their posts.

No no that's OK, I was genuinly interested. To be honest you've been one of the only people in this thread to address the point of the first post. And I wasn't trying to belittle you so I'm sorry if it came across that way.

i would consider one of the 'fundamentals' of the english language, is spelling.

your words not mine.

what does it all matter anyhow, if you can understand whats being communicated, then language has served its purpose.

going by your o.p, you are having a go at people who miss the apostrophe from words like 'its' and 'cant'. (as those are the words that you have highlighted in your o.p as a emphasis )

so when i pull you up for a obvious spelling mistake in a post that is ridiculing people who make mistakes , you seem to try and justify it and pass it off as 'nothing to see here '

your actually the worst type of person in regards to all this.

the psychology is so sweet.

get on with your own life and keep your nose out of others.

No offence taken, i read as i see it & post as i see it.
What is weird is that i get a lot of positive feedback from my posting as some seem to enjoy it. I have to say the positive comments are what make me post more & the negative ones make me post less.
I find in all things that positive leads to positive where as negative leads to negative. I have people that mention to me that i always spell a certain word wrong & will put me right. I have absolutely No problem with this at all as it is a genuine friendly bit of help being offered.
The thing that really boils my **** is when you spend the time righting a post & the Gramma natzis pick on the one mistake & ignore the content that tackles there previous wrong/false or BS post.
