I think people should be free to buy whatever they want whether it be AMD or NVidia without other people forever going on about the price they paid.
Having said that all companies are guilty of inflating prices if they can.
Very true, but AMD users dont like the way "some" Nvidia users think they have their heirs and graces and come across like they have the superior product when infact they have paid disproportionately more for a negligeable performance enhancement if any gain at all.
Getting to the core of this>>>
If the 760 is £200, 770 is £300, 780 is £400 and the Titan came in at £500 then people couldn't moan so much as there is progressive performance relative to cost. (Excluding the arguments of limited Memory Bus and Vram)
Currently even in Nvidia's own range, price has no relevance or relationship to performance. (Using FPS as the performance parameter being measured)
On another post i asked if someone could do basic calcualtions on cost per frame which would be very interesting to see. And not just AMD verse Nvidia but Nvidia verse Nvidia between different models.
If a Titan has only 20-30% more FPS than a gtx770 why is it 250-300% the cost. 1% increase in frames should never cost 10% or more money its crazy.
Likewise a 7950 is within 2% off a 7970 but was £100 less expensive and overclocks and performs often comparable when overclocked...
All companies, models, cards and prices should be critically analysed because we as customers dont want the urine extracted out of us...
What we dont want is hugely expensive items like the Tian pushing the cost of mainstream enthusiast cards at the previouly £250-£350 price point jumping to £450-£550 plus..
The Gtx 770 and the Titan are great cards no doubt. If the 770 had 3-4Gb and 384 bits memory bus at ths current price point it would be perfection. If Team green made this card it would be truely awesome. This might even be Nvidia's next move if the 20Nm process isnt ready come the autumn.
The Titan is sex on silicon but it needs to be £500 IMO. Then we can all aspire to purchase it and also even god forbid justify it to our wives on performance grounds when compared the other Gpu's on the market..(Currently Unjustifiable for Gaming alone IMO)
Just my thoughts.................Same with Intel but thats another debate...........................
