Okay, I built my first rig up yesterday (woo!) and had some stability troubles with the hardrive: if something was writing heavily to the HDD, it would crash and hang the whole system, even if it was only 50mb or so.

This was a Samsung drive in one of the intel sata ports on the DS3. I decided to swap it into the other ports, labeled Gsata, and I don't get a problem at all, the system positivly flys along...

Why could this have been? both drivers were installed

It also looks like windows is picking it up as a real Sata drive now....

XP Home.... getting absolutly zero problems now its switched... Flashget used to just kill the system when writing to disk....absolutly fine now its off the intel controlller...
