Why do people always cry "CHEAT!!"

So I've been playing DoD:S for a few months and I am pretty good with the K98 rifle. I was looking for a better server than the jolt ones cos they don't have FF on and I finally found what I thought was a good server.

Played for a few days this week and well was disappointed with the noobish player skill on there (loads of TKing etc) but at least the servers had FF and were well admined. The thing that ****ed me off is that just because I am quick with the rifle I get called a cheat and immediately 2 admins and 2 players switch to spec mode to watch me. Fortunately they didn't say anything but it certainly ruined my experience playing there.

In 2 matches 3 people got banned for allegedly cheating! :rolleyes:

Anyway end of rant just had to get that out :p
 
That's the way it is with most games of that type. I used to get called a cheat all the time in Q3A.....and I was only very average at best. Pull off a couple of good shots and people assume the worst. It's one of the main reasons that good/experienced players tend to play on private clan servers rather than publics....avoid all the moaning noobs :)
 
I got fed up with CS because it got to the point where I couldn't play anywhere without someone calling me a cheat - got quite annoying, especially when it was on my clans own server. Well, I stopped playing over a year ago now, tried playing the other day and CS is just overtaken with 13-14 y/o's now. I cba playing it again. I'd love to give DoD:S a go, but haven't bought the game yet.
 
i used to join clanservers in cs, just so i could pwn everyone. i was one of those guys that could use an m4/ak or awp/de and have 50-0 at the end. 8/10 clanservers would ban you, even if they didnt, people on the other team would join yours and block you and flashbang you lol.

this is the only SS i have since i deleted my steam folder and all my games by accident :/

 
rofl, my old clan is a3.uk. I dunno if you've heard of them, got a very good reputation for catching cheaters, I used to admin the server so I know what to look out for, as do all the admins :) It's other admins who seem too keen to ban you if you're beating them.
I've never really got into source, probably for the best - been playing CS since beta. Stopped playing a year ago and I'm quite happy not playing it anymore :)
 
theres a good way to solve it, dont play public :) i havent been on a public server in css for months and i dont intend to go back, matchs for the win
 
find yourself a decent clan server to play on, usually they are always aware that people can be good and you wont get the cheat thing.

I get the same thing on CoD, play with clan members and ive never had it!

TBH there are still people that will accuse away during matches aswell : /
 
theres people here that accuse too...

uocuk clan? yup got banned from there for h4x. even jolt admins struggle to spot the diff between cheats and good players. lol :D
 
i just bought the game last week after playing the free trial weekend, i know what you mean about people being to quick to call cheat, dosnt happen to me, i still suck, but i'm getting better, but i have seen it a few times, it seems in some servers its a crime to be good.

i often play the jolt servers for a quick pickup game, that or the [UFF] servers, but the last few days i've been using the {EFF} European Fighting Force server, very nice server, with very pleasant people, and a good atmosphere, great selection of maps, FF on, give it a try.
 
I used to get this on CSS when i was better at it than i am now, personally i dont let it bother me and i take it as a compliment. If the server admin is sad enough to ban me then the servers obviously ran by spotty 10 year olds and i wouldnt want to go back anyways. I even get accused on our own server sometimes, which is a bit sad. Best place fo rnot being accused is probably the OcUK server, as the players are all very good.
 
People are very quick to jump to calling people a cheat if they get killed. Lots of people have this idea that if anyone can kill them they must cheat and will start accusing even after 1 lucky kill.

If admins are that quick to investigate calls of cheat from a `noob` with a poor score, then TBH i`d find a server with better players and admins.
 
The worst thing about jolt DoD:S servers is that theres no admin around like...ever! The other day some guy had speedhack, aimbot, and wallhack but no admin was around to boot him :mad:

I would assume I'd have to join a clan to play on clan servers right?

steve45 do you have the ip for that server, gonna give that a go :)
 
I have been banned from 2 css servers in 2 days (only been playing again 3 days after 6 months out). The first one was for apparently aimbotting and the second was for wallhack. I don't really care as they were on random servers that I wouldn't even likely play on again.
 
yeah it sucks if you do good you get called a cheater, i was playing planetside the other day with a flail like a tank was aiming at this base and into the base when door opened i managed to make 10kills then i got about 20tr telling me i was cheating ^^ ( btw went upto 120kills) but still its daft when noobs have ago for cheating when your not

There are lots of cheats out there that's why. For some it's a lot easier branding someone a cheat than recognising that they may be better than them.
 
i think its purely as theres a lot of cheaters out there, and if youve got skill and are decent at a game then they instantly decide youre a cheater as thats the easiest thing to do and the E penis thing gets in the way as very few people will think to themselves, right he is better than me. theyll yell cheat for their own kicks who knows, but as said above, its the stupid admins that kick you that is wrong really.
 
You will always get people calling you a cheat on games. Because people dont like it when you are better than them.

Example: Convinced my wife to have a go the other day on CSS for the first time. She ran head first into a room full of enemies, randomly shot them all in the head jumped around a corner and shot someone in the head across the bridge lol

All in the matter of a few seconds. This was just pure random lucky shooting but we got quite a few people calling her a hacker lol

I though it was so funny as she has trouble running around a corner normally lol

Luckily it never got me banned.
