Why do people make stupid/annoying comments?

Im sure we've all experienced it but sometimes i wonder just how common it is for others, for example, stating the obvious, pointing out something about you as if you didn't know, worse presuming something about you or a something you do/did that just isn't true or taking to the extreme, saying something about what you do and implying it's a bad thing, making a comment when you do something even slightly different from the norm, then there's the deliberately annoying comments to get a reaction.

Why do people do it when no good comes from it?

One that annoys me is inappropriate comments mixed into a perfectly polite and nice conversation, you could be talking to a family member or friend when they bring up something about you or someone else there, like oh so and so is always like that.

Take comments with a pinch of salt and move on.

Some people are just bored or they are attention whores.

Yeah and most of the time i don't care but i don't like things being stated as fact, like for example being late a few times then having comments about it from then on when you have to go somewhere, often family will do this sort of thing, it could be silly stuff but it gets annoying if it's often enough and said as if it's fact and unchanging, im pretty sure it's a constant source of petty conflict, i imagine it's much worse for women?

Anyway so is this common for everyone and what comments do you dislike?

minimum wage?

I dunno!

You think I'm a jerk?

I wouldn't say that you were a jerk.

But if you were a type of weight training lift you'd be a clean and jerk.

If you were a type of table sauce you'd be reggae reggae jerk BBQ sauce.

If you were a village in west-central Poland you'd probably be Jerka.

I bet you have got a pair of 'Beats by Dre' Headphones,

I haven't experienced this, maybe I hang out with cool people.

Can you give an example?

Used to know a guy where anything that came out of his mouth was stupid and pointless, he'd hang around our group, say his usual crap, and when he was ignored, he'd single one person out and get their attention in any way possible to make sure they heard him. He's one of those "I don't care what anyone thinks of me YOLO" idiots. I'd happily hit him.
