Why do radiators need to be screwed in place? Why not

Anyone else agree that radiator or case mounts should just have hooks you just slide the rad onto? cleaning would be much better, all you after do is slide it off clean, put it back on again..

Sorry if silly idea Haaa, just the pain I hate doing.

CaseLabs drop-in mounts are the closest solution to this but a little birdy told me that a new, easier non-case specific solution is in the works from a company soon.

Trouble with hooks is you have to have them detachable so people can have them according to the rad size they want to go with. This then means they have to be strong enough to hold, say, a TFC Admiral 105mm thick Monsta in xx size as a worst case and this will just increase costs and compatibility.

In most cases, all the connected tubing wouldn't allow you to slide the rad out tbh.
Also, the fans would still need to be removed to get to the dust anyway (assuming it's in push).

I got bored with all the screws so I have most of fans held it with 2 screws and rads are held to the case by 4.

Quick disconnects.

Also, as long as you hold the fan blades in place, a good air compressor will clear out the dust with even 15-16 FPI rads if you have fans in push. Case in point:

That's after a dusting done, and the rad itself is pretty much dust free now.

It helps minimise vibrations from the fans and it also helps when shoe horning radiators into a case that's borderline big enough for them. With hooks, you'd have to have a bit more space to manipulate them onto the hooks.

However I think friction mounting with something like rubber coated standoffs would work whilst avoiding the issues of potential vibration leaking from the fans.
