Why do we care about a number in the grand scheme of things?

Just suddenly dawned on me...

When we are so tiny in a hugely incorporeal universe (no of us know) constructed only by manifest of man we care about a number?

A lot of people occasionally have an epiphany or realisation in regards to matters such as these.

But believe it or not the majority of people already realise this and then actively choose to ignore it, instead we use these opportunities to enlighten our lives by spending times with loved ones, and "going along with it" no matter how irrelevant it may be.
 
What is life??? Why do we care about money and the length of our willys? ?? Why are women strange creatures that behave in mysterious ways??? Why do we want to see others suffer??? Why am I up this late????

I spend time with loved ones on a daily basis.

Its normal.

Time is invented by man and yet we still get it sold to us over and over again.
 
It's a human construct designed to impart some sort of significance to our existence over time.

We're all going to die and it doesn't matter.
