Why do we 'click' with some people immediately?

Is there any particular reason why we click with some people and others it takes ages to get something going, friends, relationships etc?

Have you ever met someone and from the moment you met them been friends/partners ever since?

It does seem like a special thing to happen, and you cannot manufacture it and make it happen, it does literally just happen out of nowhere and nothing

yup I think its called like minded-ness, Have met someone at my work, im 35, she is 55 but I just get her, and she knows my train of thought. smutty, humorous. we just clicked. funny huh?

edit, im a happily married man. before you say something hehe

Literally. I do not think that this word means what you think it means.

I imagine it happens because the person we are speaking to is one of the following:

(a) Hot and we want to have sex with
(b) Hot and we want to be them
(c) Person has the same base beliefs as us
(d) Person has access to people we either want to have sex with, be, and/or have the same beliefs as us.

I'm sure a Sociology major will be along shortly to explain it all and also tell us the special of the day, ask if w have a coupon, Coca Cola is free until 4pm Mon - Weds only.

Hold me.

It's clearly chemically related, possibly smell.

You know when Beyonce once sang about jelly and appropriate times for readiness? Do you remember that song, the performance that threesome gave, the music and words that they gave to us?

It's clearly chemically related, possibly smell.

Looks like I chose the wrong month to get suspended!*

I think it's just a simple of case too parties coming together and coincidentally judging each other positively (subconsciously or otherwise) from the offset so you just 'click'.

I don't imagine it's that common for two people to meet without having any reservations regarding the other person.

If I could, you know I would. I like you, I don't think you dislike me.. I'd still ban you for a month, maybe even seven. Just to show you who's got the balls and who hasn't.

I don't dislike you at all. You're an intelligent, tenacious man who adds a great deal to these forums but I don't think we 'click'. That doesn't mean I don't like you, though.

What would banning me do? Tell me how that reflects upon your opinion of the work which the mods do day to day.

I think people get on with people they have things in common with.

People also become enagaged with people that have vastly differing views. Of the two, the latter is probably more interesting to the outsider.

I wasn't joking about a Sociology major explaining why we're basically a tribal, self-congratulating and self-finding species.

Maybe they're all still working overtime in Starbucks.

Aww shucks ta.

No, I don't think we do. Not as in run away and can't stop holding hands, metaphorically or otherwise, but christ wouldn't that be overpowering if we all 'clicked' in that "I just can't get enough" kinda way..

Anyway, the dislike was more me showing my real modest self :o ;)

That's more abstract from the case in hand, which was the size of my gonads. But I'll go with it. Banning you would exclude you from class, meaning you don't get to be with your friends or do fun stuff. On a personal level this may cause you to either find new friends, new hobbies or harbour deep personal resentment against the system and perpertrator of your victimisation. Beyond this would require that pyschological student or whatever, but I'm still pretty sure it involves glue somewhere.

As to the day to day work of the mods, pretty easy I'd imagine as a whole. Place is pretty self policing to an extent, where they have to take punative action some can be quite subjective. I'm sure group discussion takes place, but you'll also have your unilateral moderation action. I've been a moderator elsewhere with a much more laissez faire rulebooks and implimentation, and tbh I rarely used anything beyond regular posting functions. Biggest task was trolls, which I imagine would be the same here. I think overall they are quite good here, the moderation is much kinder to more flagrant posting styles than it used to be.

I got an infraction for telling someone that they were a misserable bigot who should go and take a long run off a short pier, or something I'm probably forgetting something much more offensive but I'll stick with it for now, and it turns out I didn't understand what they had meant due to the poor presentation. Turns out, after a bit more.. that lo and behold they were a bit of a bigot. I don't even really know what an infraction is it seems a bit like a girly slap on the wrist.

Anyway the point is, I have no idea who might of rtm'd it. Complained or commented to moderators. It might have offended them personally or fell into what they would constitute a personal attack, or spam, etc etc.

But again, to conclude, it's about the size of my testicles man.
