Why does 3DMark show such low specs

I'm a bit confused , I just ran 3DMark and it says my graphics is as follows
YOU -> NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX, 108 MHz / 337 MHz
FASTEST -> ATI RADEON X1950 CrossFire Edition, 769 MHz / 1125 MHz
Now I thought this 8800GTX was faster than it is showing plus better than an an X1950.

What is 3DMark saying ?

So i wasted my time downloading a 600mb program then?
No, why would it be? It still benches your card and gives you a number you can use for comparison purposes. That's exactly what it is. Just because you don't have the fastest computer on the planet doesn't make 3dMark a waste of time.

that's not what i'm saying, I know I don't have the fastest PC in the world, but if it can't get its figures right then surely it's a waste of time.

How can my card be showing as 108mhz?

ahh I give up with this OCing and benching, think i'll go play a game and enjoy my rig instead of caring about what it can and can't do :D

What Billy means is that although the readings are wrong it will still Bench and stress your card properly.
There'll be a patch out to sort it soon enouth.

Do not stop overclocking your system it's against the Law :D

Almost all 3d mark versions cannot reliably read the clocks on cards. Heck most of the versions i have used tells me my 6800 card as 11mhz core lol. It does same for other users too from just quickly lookin over others results.

TBH mate, anyone looking at the them knows that a 8800 doesn't have a clock speed of 108mhz...
