Why does anyone buy fairy liquid?

How often are you guys even buying this stuff to care about whether it lasts for long or not? The (fairly small) bottle of this under our sink must be a year old at least! Other than the very occasional very badly burnt pan which just won’t seem to wash or perhaps washing my hands if I have engine oil on them or something, it’s not something which finds much daily use surely...?

aargh - a take-away fan ? need a bowl of soapy water on the go as you cook/prep, and you can't use a dishwasher for everything, anyway.

can maybe go one better than fairy liquid ... it won't cut it on my bike chain ..full metal jacket swarfega-oil-grease-remover-5l
pro degreasers share the infamous SLS ingrediant also used in many shampoos

Because just like B&M everything you buy from Aldi or Lidl is 90% crap and goes off quicker than anything else bought from a decent supermarket.

Fairy all the way, sometimes when i feeling dangerous i buy the fairy lemon version.
It's all about the Apple fairy!

I started buying cheap washing up liquid and found my dishes and cutlery would be left with front stains after rinsing and drying , bought fairy and never had a problem. The cheap stuff also tended not to loosen the grime on things much when left to soak

I don't have any of those issues with cheap liquid.
By the way, do most of you rinse off the soap or let it dry naturally or teatowel dry without rinsing off? I always rinse off but I know some people don't.

Totally agree with this, certain products from aldi/lidl are great (nappies and wipes in particular) but the majority I have tried (Fake Lurpak, dishwasher tablets for example) just are not as good as the branded version and the fruit and veg definitely doesn't have the shelf life of stuff from Sainsburys.

I never rinsed until I got a dishwasher which obviously does and I realised just how badly the taste of soap transfers from dishes left to drip dry without a rinse.

Fairy liquid seems to last longer. The same size bottle of Sainsbury's own lasts about half or less of the time. Probably as fairy liquid is quite thick and harder to just splurge a load into the washing up bowl.

Lasts much longer in the sink. Aldi Magnum when doing none dishwasher stuff on a Sunday always needed a second sink and sometime direct onto the trays/dishes to get the grease off. Fairy just works.
Deffo worth the extra particularly as so cheap anyway.

I've found Fairy just lasts longer and does a quicker/better job. I wash up with a sink full of soapy water rather than running water and soapy sponge.

A weird one lately though, is our housemate buys Asda stuff and it seems to foam for too long? Like halfway through a session the sponge just produces endless bubbles and I end up re-soaping everything. Maybe it's a different chemical recipe in the cheap stuff but it's inconvenient when I'm trying to rinse stuff.

This thread touches a nerve as I'm very particular about my kitchen, first world problems eh :D

I took a friend to lunch today. Then I dropped him home and told him I'm off to buy some fairy liquid. He said don't buy any. He told me he just bought 10 bottles from costco and gave me two for free. :) And they're both 900ml bottles. So these will last me for a long time.

Another issue with all the fairy liquids

... when is someone going to invent the top that doesn't gunk up, and from time to time bottle delivers, like a tablespoon in one squeeze
like a sacriligious heinz squeezy bottle might.
