Why does COD Have Its Own Rules?

Most admins on FPS's and indeed on some other multiplayer games are idiots. They get butthurt if they die and ban you, or whatever. I think the worse isn't with the obvious culprits but with Counter Strike Source as you get teenagers who become admins somehow on there who whine about..

Bunnyhopping, because they can't do it and thus believe it to be cheating.
Having a better aim than them.
Controlling recoil and (is it called this?) bloom better than them.
Talking to people but not them ( Was banned for this once, chatting to this guy about a game, can't remember which, and when he tried to join in we didn't talk to him, as he was being a moron earlier and he banned the other guy and me for "disrupting gameplay")
Beating them in an argument.
Killing them.
Killing them with a certain weapon, a common one being the awp - I can see why you'd get annoyed but seen people get perma banned for this.
List is endless, always been far worse than CoD or Battlefield etc imo.

it's more to do with making the game more tactical and limiting the weapons and techniques that are used.

although tactics went out of the window after COD2. It's just a case of run in the opposite direction from the rest of your team and hope they distract them while you sneak up behind them :p

bunny hopping/prone and shooting used to pee me off no end on bf2 before it was patched and not allowed anymore.
I'm no pro gamer but surely its not a indication of skill to jump around and shoot or to leap around corners onto people?

I dont even want to play games that allow it tbh!

So it's unbalanced because one side can't use those weapons?

Well thinking about it, except maybe an RPG, most explosive weapons, especially grenade launchers are boring to use but very overpowered (which makes sense, they shoot grenades! :p) and people don't want to feel forced to use them to be able to compete. It makes sense but its still a legit part of the game, they shouldn't ban any weapon.

Grenade Launcher in CoD takes almost no skill to use and has a pretty big instakill radius. Unlike the games like Quake or Unreal where the GL is just another weapon you can collect on the map so everyone has access to it at any time and controlling the map is part of winning, the GL in CoD is only available to people who select it. The only people who take it are those too crap to aim with the guns themselves. Much like Martyrdom because frankly you have to be a truly **** player to think taking a skill that only activates on your DEATH is worthwhile.

I agree, but still, people should be allowed to use what they want. When I played CoD on the Xbox, people who would use them would get verbally massacred by even their own team. Everyone in the game will instantly recognize their scrubness the second the grenade launcher icon pops up after a kill. If they are prepared to have that label, all the power to them. :p

Can't really hate them though, they can't help being retarded, just remember that these are the kind of guys who require arm bands and a snorkel when it rains to avoid drowning in puddles, so we should be nice really and allow them success at something!

Well everyone can choose to have the GL and every other gay perk so it's all equal in my eyes.

Personally I love seeing someone get blown up by GL and cry about it, makes for a fun match :D

i hate losers that jump around corners its just ********

but you cant bunny hop on call of duty now as the second jump is always crap

i also hate bloody campers when your in a hardcore search and destroy game.

and its ******** banning explosive weapons. if you keep dieing then use a ****ing flack jacket

Two things I hate in FPS.

1. Bunny hoppers. It is ****ing annoying. It doesn't bother me in a twitch game such as Quake Live, or UT but it annoys the hell out of me in games such as BF3.

2. Cheap kills. Such as planting C4 on flaqs in BF3. There is nothing worse.

One word:

Badmins.

EDIT: To elaborate, I don't like it either. One time in BF3 my team was getting spawn camped in the TV station in rush mode. If we stuck our heads over the edge of the building we'd get pinned by 3+ snipers.

The badmin yelled at me for RPGing the snipers. Perfect weapon for the job, but noooo

Thankfully we can shoose which server to play on most of the time.

Thing is most games don't take into account how low your accuracy should be when you are jumping. So you can jump round a corner and shoot someone because the games physics are bad/wrong or simply stacked towards the jumper.

On bf3sometimes the terrain is that annoying that if you aren't jumping you will clip some unseen part of the scenery for half a second, curse then die. So jumping to escape i don't mind. Jumping in to attack should be nerfed so that you miss more often and this de incentivise this move.

Wow really? Crying about jumping around corners?
Sounds like you need to use the advantage of having an opponent with less accuracy in those crucial milliseconds, or would you rather have an opponent run around a corner and have more chance?

The rest I can dig, I generally don't play those games though, I don't mind prone as long as you can't spam it, too many people complain about prone as if it isn't a valid tactic in anything.

Lastly, camping; far too many people complain about this when you're an attacking team against defenders, I think those people need to think about it for a moment.

There's nothing wrong with prone/camping whatsoever, there's this weird obsession people seem to have with this, in a game like Quake, yeah camping is lame, but in something like BF3 or CoD, how the hell can you complain about it when so many people bunny hop, when was the last time you saw a soldier in Iraq jumping around like a moron? When was the last time you saw a soldier in Iraq lying prone for long periods of time picking off insurgents?

FPS gaming community is weird, its like they wanna play the respective games completely the opposite to how they are supposed to be.

Nah they want them to play just like they do, because they can't counter any other playing style :D

If you don't go running around like a madman then you won't be killed so easily by campers.

Yeah I think that's it, its rock paper scissors almost, people that rush (genuine playstyle, nothing against it btw) are naturally at a severe disadvantage to those who are lying in wait. Thing is though, that's legit, I don't see why people have a problem with that, its much better than the Quakestyle most people see to adopt, rushing and camping are genuine war tactics.

Hopping around like you have nuclear turbofarts on the other hand, is not. Why they'd moan about camping while jumping around like a 3 year old on meth I have no idea!

Used to be like this on BF2 years ago until EA started stat wiping.

I can't count the amount of times I was kicked by **** admin.
In all my experience of FPS I have found that the only people who dictate New rules on there own servers are Rubbish players.
Usually it's a clan & normally only 1 or 2 of a clan of about 12 is any good. The others just gang up on publics & make up ** rules so they can kick anybody that's better than them.
Nothing will change my mind either as it's from my own personal experience.

It's to emulate tournament servers where the games are more tactical.

It's basically supposed to make the game less luck orientated and more realistic and tactical.

Personally I loved promod on COD4 and hated stuff like noobtubing and bunny hopping so I was always happy with those rules.

In public games none of those a rules, just whining kids. If they were against the rules then they wouldn't be in the game.

But match games, pro mod etc have it to emulate real play.

People who say noobtube is against the rules is talking out their a, they are just complaining that they get it handed to them.

How ironic because its you who comes across as being butthurt. Noobtube takes no skill to use, hence the name, so no I doubt they are complaining they got it 'handed to them' as its a complete contradiction. Its like saying you got owned by martyrdom, a perk that only triggers when you kill them
