Why does everything have to be on the same day! (interview / party = no cover)

I have had a letter back about the job i applied for. they want me to attend a recuitment day next friday. the only week that we have no cover at work, and its only me and my boss in for the week.

the day runs from 10 - 4. and i need to attend, getting the day off is going to be tricky, as if i pull a sickie there will be only 1 person in the office, so if we have an appointment my boss will have to close the office for the duration.

now the skins party is the same night :( i am happy to miss this for the interview, but will i get in **** if i leave my boss in the learch for another interview?

everything always seems to come along at the same time :(
 
And as said last week the office pay him peanuts, act like a monkey and sickie/recruitment day/skins party - do it all :)

Depends what your sickness record is like, if you have never or rarely been off ill in the past and not mentioned this party i would just phone in sick. Look after no1, after all what are they going to do if you get this job.
 
I know the feeling about everything happening the same day! Last Saturday I'd been offered tickets to Arsenal v Newcastle - full corporate for free. Sadly I'd also paid to go on a stag do to Palma for the weekend!

...and amoungst all that it was my birthday.

i am currently trying to get hold of the guy that is carrying out the recuitment day to have a chat with him. Now that my boss is out on his only appointment of the day :) but the guy i need to speak to is also out on appointments.

no1 is looking at making this easy are they
 
got hold of him and he has been trying to call me today to arrange a seperate interview. as there are 4 posiotions going. and out of there applicants it is only myself and one other that is currently in this line of work. so he doesnt want me to attend the recuitment day but go and see him direct :D
 
arent you wanting more money anyway

should have just told your boss the truth , you never know... they might of even offered you more cash to stay , especially since you leaving is going to have a big effect on them
 
thinking about it, it really will screw them over if i leave.

i dout they will offer me more money. but if i am offered the other job i will give them the choice to pay me enough to stay
 
If you remember the pretend 'kids take loads of drugs, goto loads of raves and shag loads of teachers" series on channel 4 awhile back then they're having some premiere parties to promote the start of the second series.
You needed to have applied for a ticket on myspace and then you turn up at 8pm, watch the first episode, buy some drinks and watch some indie/electro dj's untill 1am.
I had a ticket myself but decided not to go to the one in liverpool tonight.

i applied on the E4 site. myspace fails.

there is some free booze to :D should be a good night
 
i need to take with me my salery expectations :( im so crap at doing this. i want more than im on now. butdont wanna price myself out the job lol
