I was just about to post the same thing, OP.
I'm looking to upgrade from my budget DDR2-800 to some Kingston 1066mhz. £90 for 4GB...
I was surprised to still find DDR2 so dear. I get the whole old=rare=expensive thing, but there still seems to be loads of places selling decent DDR2, just all at elevated prices.
I guess they reckon anyone still buying DDR2 is stuck in a 'refuse to upgrade' mindset and will happily pay more for the older gen instead of forking out for a whole new rig.
