Why does this happen?! Very strange stuff inside!

And I figured it out last night, I turned my xbox 360 off at the plug and it fixed the speed problem!

What I do not understand is that even though the xbox has been off (not from the plug switch) why is it interfering with bandwidth!?

Because Xbox is crap. Get a real console such as a PS3.

I had this problem too when I was with Virgin Media, when I used my 360 either wireless or wired by Ethernet it would slow the router down to a crawl (even on Ethernet). I moved to BE Broadband and get a BE Box for which it no longer occurs. I was also using a Belkin router at the time. Maybe some sort of incompatibility?

Got both

I can understand incompatibilities, however its just strange that it occurs even when the xbox is off.
