Why does wmp do this?

Now even though my computer has 4gb RAM and a Q6600 why is wmp soo slow?

It always opens in now playing as well, then crashes and with these problem it takes a good 20secs before I can play a song, anyone know why?

Frankly, i have no idea, but with the easy availability of such excellent replacement software, like Foobar2k or WinAmp, i don't see why it's worth the effort trying to fix the problem
