Why doesn't London just collapse?

Whilst remarkably, given the rabbit warren below London, the city remains mainly structurally stable, socially it is already collapsing.
My exact thought when seeing the thread title, especially having watched some of the documentary last night about the Riots 10 years ago, feels like only a matter of time till that repeats itself with cold/starving people everywhere

Oh I don't know, do Like London, visited London many times from my location in the Highlands of Scotland and its always been fun, normally the Sleeper train from Inverness but hired car drives down too with my Rocker pals to see the big Gigs :)
Over the years seen live in London, Pink Floyd (Gilmours Floyd) 1994 at Earls Court, hear place is demolished now, please say that's not true?
Been to the Royal Albert Hall to see a Joe Satriani G3 show, Metallica at Twickenham just before 2019 Covid lockdown and that was crazy and fun, getting home again was a challenge from our train service to NE Scotland next day, but we made it .. a real adventure.

Much more too.

I'm due a London visit again soon.

This is all very nice, but what are your thoughts on the stability of the London sewage systems, underground transport hubs, the proliferation of new builds and the ability of the capital's subsoil to maintain new and future superstructures long-term?

Why doesn't London just collapse?

A lot of people north of Milton Keynes have been asking that question for last 40 yrs or more .

Surely the op doesn't think when a building has more than 1 floor that everything above should collapse? View London in the same way. The "ground" level is like being on the 5th floor of a building
