I have all these parts and yet when I go to boot it it starts then stops after a few seconds, is it overheating? I'm aware I don't have a heatsink but does it matter that much? Would be greatful for any help could get, thanks.

well ****, I believe the cpu is still okay, but looking at that support page does seem to suggest it's not supported, I'll send back the mobo then and pay the difference of an upgrade hopefully :s

This has to be the post of the year!! :D:D:D

You have one of the hottest running cpu's ever made and you tried it without a heatsink and wonder if it matters? Of course it matters. You will be lucky if that cpu hasn't cooked itself. Motherboard wise, that cpu may work in it if it's not dead now. The board takes the 8350 and your cpu is basically just a overclocked 8350 so provided the board has enough power phases and decent enough cooling it should work.

What case is this all in? If it's a small case or one with poor airflow you might want to change power supply too. It's quite poor and will get very loud when stressed.

I am somewhat new to building pc's, if you couldn't tell, I'm genuinely worried it has burned out but I'm really hoping it hasn't, if you have any help in terms of heatsinks then that'd be great

it will need a big cooler for that cpu. save your money and get an 8320/50 and overclock it!

edit: knew i should have refreshed before posting :D
