If I want to buy an nvidia card for physx support but not have it as my primary video card why dont they want me to buy their product. Nvidia currently cant offer me eyefinity or an equivalent feature so why would they have a problem with my owning an ati card. I realise i can do it with a hack but thats hardly the point. Pishes me losing physx in Arkham. I believe they have even blocked it in the discrete physx only card too

They did it because nVidia's business practices are not exactly sporting. They saw an opportunity to try and snipe AMD/ATI customers away from the opposition, and took it.
Just run the PhysX mod, it works well anyway, certainly no problems for me with my Crossfire 5770's and 9800GT 512MB.

Physx is still in its infancy anyway, Batman is just the start of the better games that support it.
