Same, my wife was taking the **** over the weekend because I was watching youtube videos on picking locks (i'm interested in infosec so I find security flaws interesting)

Yet, she'll happily sit there playing candycrush, browsing facebook/insta or watching a bunch of people bake cakes... :D

This is what irritates me with my kids, "I don't like eating that".. but you've never even ******* tried it :D

Although, I've not tried spelunking but I know I wouldn't like that. Big guy, enclosed tight spaces... NOPE. I happily jump out of planes though, love to do a HALO jump one day and get into base jumping.

I would say there’s nothing wrong with people trying things and not liking them. It’s the whole “oooo not for me I couldn’t do it...” vibe that some people give off *shudder*

I am torn on this.....
on one hand it does annoy the crap out of me when my lad picks bits out of his tea without even trying it.

OTOH I have never tried

Understandable, but things like curry, pasta etc. Won't eat cheese on toast but eats pizza. Baked beans... My daughter will eat fries, oven chips but won't touch chip shop chips... lol

within the climbing culture, there are those with high ape factor, and, the normal people.

I thought women are less likely to do the dangerous sports with objectively more danger ... base-jumping/free-solo- because they evaluate objective danger better.
(I just remember the criticism thrown at Alison Hargraeves - RIP)
it appears more men than women are obese so that does not seem to bias the population, to-wit, watched 'click' yesterday and lol the male presenter on e-scooters/mortality ... is that adventurous ?

My missus was taken on scout camps since she was a baby as her parents were about leaders. She jumps at the chance to go kayaking, camping or anything else outdoorsy. She used to dive as well (North Sea, none of this fair weather holiday stuff). She can't stand shopping or other activities aimed at women.

She's did mention that neither herself or her friends (all female) would ever date anyone in the same dive club or from other activities though. I would suggest stop being so selective as whomever you met might develop an interest in whichever activity appeals to them.

They always say that until they see someone they actually like.

So many police staff in my old place used to say they would never date an police officer. That changing within the first 6 months of them being there, a few left their partners to be with police officers.

The running club i sometimes run with has a fairly even split i'd say, and likewise some paddleboarding facebook groups i'm in seem to have more women posting than men, although that could be more due to the desire to be involved in social media.
