Why has my BE Connection slowed?

Hi, Basically since the beginning of my contract 1 year ago iv been on a 3db interleaved profile, im only 333m from the exchange. I used to sync around 14500 - 15000kbps and get a download throughput of around 1.3-1.4MB/s.

I decided to try my line on fastpath with 3db profile which prooved abit shoddy as it increased my sync rate to 15500kbps but my download throughput suffered only getting around 800kb/s.

I then asked BE to change me back to my original settings, since then I am syncing anywhere between 14000-15000 but my download speed is still suffering, maybe on a good day I will be able to obtain 1.0MB/s or at a stretch 1.1MB/s, but normally its more like 800-900kb/s.

Anyone know why or how I can get my old speeds back?

Thanks all

Try over at the BE forums. You can go via the BE Usergroup site which is handy for odd bits of information.

BE Usergroup -> Forum Login -> Be Speed & Line Issues

Start a thread and be a bit more specific than you have been here; you haven't mentioned how those throughputs were measured (speedtest site, torrents, etc).

Connect with your BeBox if you aren't already and post your router stats found at http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/dsl/dt/?be=0&l0=1&l1=0. They prefer with an uptime of at least overnight.

Log in to your Be account and at the bottom right side you can change your broadband profile there.

You can choose between 3 options and you can also turn on/off gaming mode in there.

Optimize for Speed
Standard
Optimize for Reliability

That controls the profile, Im already on optimise for speed, and have been since the beginning, its nothing to do with that im afraid :(

The only BE option which has a bandwidth cap is their newer (I think since the start of the year) Value package. However, the Value service both old and new are characterised by an 8 Mb/s down sync limit and a general inability to disable interleaving aka "fastpath". We can see from details in the OP that he's not on a Value package.

@DJMK4: did you create a thread on the BE forum? Alternatively you could post your router stats (from http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/dsl/dt/?be=0&l0=2&l1=0) here.
