Why have 2 lan ports?

Edit - I know switches could be used but eliminates that. I don't exactly know why.

NAT/Firewall role box (i.e 1x WAN, 1x LAN) ... or both on the LAN for load-balancing/failover
They're the main reasons I use them anyway...

NAT/Firewall for starters then you could have the links aggregated into a 2Gbps per second link or have them in failover mode so if one link stops working the other takes over.

Always better to have more than one of something!

i use mine to connect to 2 networks... dont ask me why theres 2 networks in my house.. there just is .. i didnt make them....grumble...

Can use ICS (Internect Connection Sharing) to connect say an Xbox to the Internet.. Your computer has to be On to play on Xbox Live however, but you can Bridge on Halo Woop!

Having two ports means you can use the pc as a switch via ics or have double the bandwidth.
