Only just bought this over the weekend as I had a guest pass given to me ,,Like OMG I have not had this much fun since i first loaded BF2 . Seems all my BF2 clan are hooked up on as well so we are on a steep learning curve .

Ok couple of question if you can .

1. Whats the best classs to learn the game on ? I have been running around as Pyro setting all alight ?

2. How do i get an Unlock , I take it this will be for achivments but I so need that pyro flare gun ?

3. I played on a server where we had to get the bomb to the enemy base , christ on a bike what a giggle . Are there any servers that just play this map ?

Ta

1. All of them :)

2. Unlock achievements, once you hit a 'milestone' (something like 10, 16, 22) achievements, you will unlock a new item/weapon.

3. You mean the payload? Like a cart that you pushed along a track? If so, look for pl_mapnamehere servers :)

Great game... think I'll go play now :D

Welcome to TF2 :D

Everyone's different, for me it was the engie, I suppose it just appealed to me; building stuff, rockets, auto guns, sitting back taking it easy, playing a bit of geeetar (incidentally, check out the TF2 vids on Steam), few bevvies...

If you look at your achievements in-game it'll have a little description of what you need to do in order to get the achievement. The pyro flaregun is great fun so I can understand you wanting it bad.

Payload maps - if you custom filter your server browser iirc you can select only payload maps. Or find out what the payload maps are called and filter to show only those.

Pyro is imo the easiest to play with, try to get behind the enemy somehow and cause havoc with the backburner.
2.
Achievements, check your achievements menu.
3.
Yeah, as above look for payload maps:
pl_Goldrush is the best imo.

Pyro is prob the best to learn the game, then move onto stuff like the Soldier when you get better, also if you play Engy don't sit back and defend be really offensive and you'll do loads better.

As for unlocks, just google Steam Achievement Manager and use those to get them.

The sniper class plays the same as it does on practically all FPSs so if you like sniping it might be a good class to start off with, only difference being your gun has a "charge", meaning the you have to stay scoped for a few seconds to achieve maximum damage.

As mentioned above, you can learn the game with pretty much any class, as to be honest, especially on larger servers (24player etc) your going to want to get teamwork more than which classes you use. Sure if 12 players were heavy against, 12 were engineers, you may think, oh the engineers will win everytime. But not in my opinion.

Each class has its own weaknesses and strengths, and first, i would look at what other people are playing as, the last thing you want (especially in a clan) is to have everyone go pyro or something. Personally if i was new to the game now, i would have you and your clan try out all the different classes and try to assign 2 or 3 classes to each person (how big is your clan) based on their gameplay style and obviously everyone has a favourite class. I love the heavy, dont know why but i just find it fun (and im decent at it), i love him. Sandvich, whats not to like :p

Oh and dont take this the wrong way, but have you been living under a rock for over two years in terms of pc gaming?

I've really got back into TF2 these last couple of weeks as I've got quite bored of L4D and I am just waiting on the other campaigns.

I did buy a copy of TF2 the other week and gave it to a work colleague of mine as I knew he would like it. This afternoon he told me he was hooked so bad his wife was starting to complain.

I belive the best class to learn with is medic, i spent most of the early game as medic since there wasnt many medics around at the time.

You will learn the maps faster as medic becasue u will be following other people and been on the front line more, if you stick with the good players to heal you will see what they do and how the stay alive and how they get kills. You will also learn how to stay alive and keep your self out of danager.

Also it is TEAM fortress and as a medic you will learn team play and build some sort of bond with the people you are healing (if they look after you).

No offence the pyro is a bit of a noob class theres very few good pyros, i've lost count how many pryos i have killed my syringe gun. If you really wanna learn how to play the game pyro is a bad choice imo.

I have had so many people add me on steam just because they liked my healing and medic skills. When it comes to the playing the more offensive calsses you will have a better idea how to play them becuase you would have seen what works and what doesnt as a medic.

Plus you will know how to look after your medic, something a lot of people dont know how to do.

And as the above poster as said its usally best to go whatever class your team needs at the time. But imo i feel a good medic can make the bigest differance to a team then any other class.

1. engi / sold

2. yes, complete achievements to unlock the other weapons, some achievements need these unlocked mind so dont aim for the impossible :P

3. PL_<Name> Maps :)

Its not over powerd at all, if people are dumb enough to charge to you thinking they can get a easy kill cause your a medic they deserve to die. It usally takes a few rounds to drop most classes, plenty of time from them to retreat or kill you.

The key to been a good medic is staying alive they need some sort of self protection gun. The first tf the medics had shotguns, they could also infect the enemys and that infection would spread to other people if they ran into each other. They also had frag grenades if my memory is right.

Being a medic to follow someone good is a clever idea.. i would recommend the soldier as it is the most simple class to play ... shoot big rockets at the badguys.. u also have a decent amount of health so wont die as quickly if you were to play one of the lighter more complicated classes

Ive always considered the pyro to be a weak class which is a shame as i do like them.. but they are not offensive, pyros are sadly a defensive player as they dont have the range, or the speed, or the health to charge at people... They are good at ambushing a player around a corner so are good for defending ... unless they have a medic to uber them at which point they are good at killing engi buildings

medic / engie / solider are best to learn with..

with medic you shadow other players, so see a lot of other people's tactics etc..

remember to heal all your team mates though :)

Ive only just started playing a few days ago. Yet to have a go on all classes but I got my best score so far with a spy. Seems with a spy if the other team has half a brain cell you get caught out :(

spy is hard to master, heavy is good when you have a good medic on your team, but heavy has a very linear play style, for this reason he's my least played class

Funny really, since the days of QWTF the spy has always been (generally) the worst class. You might have thought they'd have found some way to balance it out, but not so far.
