Why I DONT use Pastel coolants

Heh well my previous tubing was XSPC High Flex. When I did my annual maintenance I switched to Primochill Advanced.

Like I said, in my case a small amount of gunk was stuck between the fins on the block. Nowhere near as bad as OP. This was a dark/red colour rather than white though, so guess it could be plastisiser. Water temps didn't go over 40oC throughout though, as far as I am aware. I had read higher temps exacerbate the situation, wonder what OPs temps were?

Hopefully next time I won't notice anything at all.. time will tell!

Primochill Advance LRT. There is one down side to this tubing and that is over time it "will" change colour to a orange / yellow translucent colour, How ever its not that bad and at least it doesn't leach plasticiser into you system. Id rather have a tinge then lose any equipment.

Wow ....

Suggestion for Rich and Mick: Next time you run the watercooling workshop drag these pictures out to show why cheap tubing is a bad idea. So glad I listened to the advice on that day.

I'm with you on the above.

I used the rubbish stuff to flush the loop and didn't fit it properly until I had Primochill tubing, even though I had to wait a few weeks for stock to come in at OCuk

I have looked online but can't find a definitive answer so thought I would ask all you knowledgeable people.

Does the XSPC Highflex hose White have plastisizer in?

Also how often do you have to clean the system out? Mine is just about a year and a half old and I have done zero maintenance on it. I used a combination of distilled water and car antifreeze.

Im feeling generous...

If you replace the users tubing (make him buy it and show me the receipt) with decent tubing by primochill ill replace his fluids free of charge under warranty. How ever if you keep on using the same tubing there is no point us replacing it.

Hows that sound !!!
for some reason " replace his fluids" does not sound right. But yeah that's what I call customer service

this is why ocuk is the best. we only deal with suppliers who put their rep on the line to give their customers the best service.

excellent work

this is the exact reason that we are 100% behind mayhems!

I've been using Pastel in one colour form or another since the Primochill Advanced was released and have never had one issue at all. Actually tell a lie, once but that was down to one run of another brand tube and only about 3 inches long to boot, and leaching started within about 6 days. Like said buy a decent tube, and all will be hunky dory.

Scratch that buy Primochill, as I've even heard recently that the Masterclear is even having some issues, and they are the only 2 brands that apparently are good with pastel.

( The other brand was XSPC buy the way )

Hi, sorry to "hijack" the thread but after Mayhems recommending Primochill for tubing, I bought 2m of the white 7/16mm.
It arrived with dirt all over it. Is this normal?
How do I go about removing/cleaning it without "contaminating" the insides.

Clean with warm water and fairy liquid. Give it a good rub and no it should never arrive like that it should arrive crystal clean and clear.

Definitely not normal, contact the seller about it as it looks like it is dirty + scratched.

Also I expect Project Jon Snow to include no hard drives, such that it knows nothing.
