Why I love the Elise...

Currently in the process of saving for an Elise, also racking up some NCB.

I hope I dont have to wait untill I am 21 and have 3yrs NCB in order to just insure one.

I plan to buy one before next summer, around Spring-ish time before the summer price hike kicks in on these sort of cars.
I'm 21 and have no NCB

yeah insurance at 21 is easy, s2 is frightfully more to insure then an s1, £3k vs £2k for me on a rough quote i got through elephant and vx220 was 'only' £1500.

You might want to ask oblivious how much he is having to pay at 20 to insure his s1, although i don't think he wants to say!

Well, Im 20 with 1 NCB, so what Im doing is paying nearly 2k for 2 months, then I am going to cancel that and reinsure it in two months when I am 21. :D

But I dont want to discuss it, because insurance is making me feel ill. I just want to forget about it :D

Late reply to the thread (been on hols)

a slightly random question for all you elise/vx owners... how tall are you?

I'm 6'0" and I can't reach the pedals properly if I put the seat right back so you should be fine. Getting in and out is an art in itself and it doesn't matter if you're 4' or 7' you're still gonna look silly :D

As for pics, I don't have any new ones but here's the old ones in the meantime.

Jeeze, all these pictures of Elises make me miss mine even more. Hoping to get an S2 111S or maybe even a 135R this winter...here's some pics of my old S160 anyway.

Those of you from SELOC - it was in last year calender, June 05 :)

Hmm.....for a laugh I jammed my details into the AA website to see what my insurance would be per year on one of these.

£10,041.72

Hmm...guess one of these isnt an option until I've a few extra years driving under my belt then. :p

But you don't buy an Elise for those two things do you, lol!
Well mine's now my only car (I do still have access to sensible cars if I'm desperate) so we'll see how practical it can be. Especially as I'm taking up golf...

Clubs / bag on the passengers seat sticking out the roof (Should be alright) Taking up golf when you have an elise, umm Twisty country road + nice car or stuck up ppl in funny clothes taking about bedding plants and potting sheds ;)

 indeed!

I can't get my clubs in the passenger seat.. the bag is too big to fit in the footwell :(

Stupid big steamer trunk golf bag!

Surely you should be looking at buying a Jag :p

I'm buying one soon, probably get a bargain in the early winter.

My problem is I can't decide which :( S160? 111S? 135R? I just can't decide :(

I can get insured on one next year for £2000, which isn't actually that bad :o

Of course i can't afford the car yet, but as soon as i start practising i'll definitely have one!
