Why is browsing Netflix so poor?

I don't know if this is still true but when I last used Netflix there was no way of browsing the entire catalogue of films alphabetically. It would only show featured titles in the slidebar.

Is this still the case?

I find it fairly useless on my TV App. Really hard to browse things that are not being promoted at the time.

The windows app is a thousand times better than the website if you have windows 8/8.1/10
Also use sites like www.moreflicks.com or http://uk.istreamguide.com/new?direction=desc&movies=1&shows=1&sort=created

But yes it is poor.

The Netflix (and Amazon Prime) UI are just awful. Its all geared towards recommendations and promoted content, rather than simply letting you browse what they have.

Basically its impossible to 'stumble' on something without either knowing what its called, or it being put on one of the recommended banners.

Tablet style interface rather than giving us a proper website.

Unless someone makes a website that hooks into Netflix to give us a list of films / shows I highly doubt it'll happen

I've always thought this too.
They need to change the whole style.

Amazon's prime service is even worse.
