Why is Intel Matrix Storage so slow verifying?

Have two 250GB drives in a RAID1 mirror and it's doing a verify at the moment.

Problem is it's been going for about eight hours so far and is only at 72%! Why is it so damned slow?

I hear you mate I totally hear you. I have over the last couple of days rebuilt my arrays and re-installed Vista to my new SSD. Both times I have done a fresh install Intel matrix manager has had to verify my raid1 and yes it takes sooooooooo long and is very frustrating.

It's beyond frustrating, it's just garbage. There's no logical reason for it taking that long other than Intel being incompetent. Will put up with it this once but, if it does it repeatedly then I'll take software RAID over this!
