When a shoe lace comes loose and you retie it it is necessary to retie the other shoe as it feels odd if you don't?

Answers and any other strange questions welcome.

You just wasted 1 minute of your short existence on this planet asking a dumb question on the internet. Oh wait I just replied.

It's a epic fail on every level...

Because as you walk, the laces loosen, stretch and redistribute themselves. This means that a shoe that has been freshly tied feels different than one that has been tied earlier.

Oh, and btw, I don't do this.

Wouldn't know, haven't worn footwear where I need to tie the laces in about 20 years.

same tight enough fitting I can just push the laces under my foot and not tie them although sometimes I put a knot behind the last hole so the tension on the laces won't reduce

(Serious answer)

Kinaesthetic memory.

Tying you shoe laces is like a small macro program. Stopping the program halfway through by only tying one lace leaves you brain feeling that something isn't quite right.

It is a little like how almost everybody stumbles when stepping onto a stationary escalator. Consciously you know it isn't moving. but you still go through the "escalator macro" any way as if it was.

I thought only teeneagers and chavs did that??:p

On a serious note, I tried this once but the shoelaces under my feet annoyed my happiness something shocking.

Shoe laces? who has shoe laces that you have to do up anymore, I have shoes that either you slip on and not laced

or shoes that come with laces, but you do the whole "knot" thing and cut them, so you can slip them on/off and not have to worry about laces

yea you have to make sure the plastic part of the lace isn't under your foot but positioned to the side of your heel or it's annoying to walk on

Ever though about velcro? All the honkeys be jelly when you walk in the next board meeting with dem velcros.

just looks neater without tied laces... and saves so much time in your life.

all those 10-20seconds you spent tieing your laces you can't get back , over your lifetime it must be days wasted for what? so you can mock people who have better things to do with their time

Must have been doing something wrong -or I might just have wonky feet- but no matter where I positioned them they always made their way back under my feet. :(
