Ever since i had this machine at christmas, it has always played games that i have thrown at it, and so on - so i havent really worried about why my memory wont run at its correct speed.

At the moment i believe it is running at 5:3 or something similar, 1000fsb processor and about 720-40 on the memory, it will not run at 1:1 (assume this is because of the fact it is a 4gb set(4x1gb))

Not that it is by any means a performance indicator, every part of the vista performance index gets 5.9 on my system, except the memory which gets 5.0, surely that cant be right?

You will have problems running at 1:1 due to strain being put on the NB, you proberly be ok at 800mhz max with slightly tweaked timmings and possibly 900mhz but would need very high NB voltage and loose timmings. If you have adjustement for altering the TRFC in the bios try that at 52 or greater might help achieve.

I have the same problem with my 9200Flex but with 2x1g moduals I could OC to 1200 but with 4x1g moduals I can run at a 1000 with slightly tighter timmings, my MB only lets me adjust my TRFC to 42 so I'm limited to that speed but to be hanest with OC faster cpu speed makes the higher bench scores.

have you tried upping the ram voltage ?? has to be 2.1v for that ram to run at recommended settings but also could be casie it is 4 sticks. 4 sticks allways seems to cause mroe probs then 2
