why is my ssd howing up as a scsi drive its driving me mad, how can i change this

the ssd is a samsung ssd 64gb mlc - is this drive anygood btw

and also on my windows experience score thingy it is only 5.9 not the 7.3 others are reporting

the o.s is windows ultimate and the mother board is asus p5n32e-sli plus

help as this is driving me mad, the rest of the system is in the high 6's - low 7s and my ssd is only at 5.9:(

Sounds like you're using a driver other than the Microsoft AHCI driver, try uninstalling the controller and see if it installs the Microsoft one.

yes windows did

and when it showed up as an scsi device i downloaded the drivers from asus but same problem :(

have put this drive in my laptop and it shows up as an ssd and a score of 7.4 so the drive is okay

Right click the Nvidia Serial ATA Controllers, select update driver, click browse my computer, let me pick from a list of devices on my computer, see if it lists Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller if it does select that driver, do the same for othe other Nvidia Serial ATA Controllers and then reboot.

it didnt have that either but it did have standard dual channel pci ide controller and i picked that and now my ssd is showing up as an ata device

is this right ?
