Over the past while I've noticed that some favourite websites of mine when scrolling down through the pages, pause/lag every so often for a few seconds and the Windows 'egg-timer' shows up. Then everything continues as if nothing has happened. The same websites do not do this when using IE or Firefox.
I've tried disabling all my extensions (I don't have that many to begin with) and also tried clearing the Chrome Cache, cookies etc and finally I nuked my Chrome install after backing up my bookmarks and reinstalled it. Still the same......laggy scrolling on websites in Chrome but not in other browsers. Now, the easy option would be ditch Chrome and use one of the other browsers and I'll be honest, I'm close to doing so. But having used it for years I would kinda like to stay with it.
Anyone had this annoying issue and managed to solve it? I'm running Chrome 64bit on Windows 8.1 on an i7 920 D0 @4Ghz with 16Gb Corsair Vengeance so the system is plenty powerful enough I think.
Ta.
