Why is Subway so greedy with ice?

Nope, They're the only ones who don't mind working for Minimum Wage nowadays!!! ;)

Most English Kids want to go on the Latest Simon Cowel abomination and 'Get Rich Quick'
That's ********, there's loads of kids on the dole because no one will hire them. Lots of adults with experience looking for any job in a crap job market with experience vs. the kid with none. What chance have they got?

The reason lots of immigrants have low level positions is because you can pay them under minimum wage (hire them for so many hours, make them work more) and they won't be in a union or be looking to rock the boat for fear of losing their visa.

It doesn't give you all the poor ingredients in the "bread" and the fact that the meat is processed crap too.

and half the meat probably isn't actually what it says...

reminds me of a pizza flyer I got through my door recently at the bottom in the tiny small print

bacon = turkey
pepperoni = beef
ham = turkey
why bother listing bacon , pepperoni and ham on the god damn menu if it's not what it says.....

Wow...

Any figures, facts or articles to back up that statement?

I work for a Polish restaurant chain and have experience in hiring staff. I've interviewed and hired staff from Poland, England, Czech Republic, Romania, Spain and Italy to name a few.

From my experience nationality doesn't make much of a difference. What I have noticed though is that some people are willing to work harder for what they are given than others. These are the people I keep and want to have working for a growing chain.

Also, I'm British. (Although parents are not) :D

I have 3 small businesses as well as a good job and I don't give a **** where you come from provided you graft and you do things properly.

Generally speaking I tend to find polish and indian workers will work harder/ longer but they'll do things in a really inefficient way, they want to look like they're working hard.

Whereas British and German workers will find a way to do things easily and then do that, it looks like less work but it's the same amount just done cleverly.

Personally I hire the guys who work smart, not hard. They have more capacity for working so you get more out of them.

Obviously in a restaurant that's not exactly a big issue provided everything gets done.

Sick of people saying "All these kids don't want to work blah blah blah" and if people had ever hired someone they'd see hundreds of applications pouring in for the simplest of positions from people of all backgrounds.
