Why is the 800D so good?

its a lian li pc-a71f with a lian li triple 120 rad top panel! (not that difficult to get hold of if i managed it!) awaiting 360 rad for the top and 280 rad for the front!
Thats one up on the 800d already !

Yeah I took at a stab at guessing which one of the 70 series it may have been. But i totally agree the lian li range is so much more far superior than the Corsair for parts and mod-ability.

Having just watched the mnpc review on youtube for the lian li lol just lol no way in hell am i completely disassembling the entire front of the case to clean out my dust filters. With the price of lian li cases i'd expect a lot more from them forgetting the fact they are an established case maker. Sorry for me it would be a corsair over that lian li case everytime.

thanks for the replies guys,

that is an interesting alternative to the 800D, although sourcing the separate parts could be a pain over getting an 800D that is ready to roll.

Never really been a fan of plastic cases but its a great beginners case :)

Beginners case? Are you insane?Oh yeah i forgot i'm at OVerclockerUkForums now.

For 90% of enthousiast gamers this case is the best out there. The other 10% pay 500£ for a TT Level 10 case or 350£ for a Lian Li case.

I have one,and i'm angry at them for not bringing this case on the market MUCH earlier.I replaced the original fans with Noiseblockers, and guess what?Even with only Air cooling and in a hot room the temp of the CPU never got higher then 42°C.

And it's FRIGGIN' HUGE.It even dwarfs my 5970 card :D.
I ordered my pc at the same small shop as always and my rig was the first EVER 800D rig for that shop. When they finished assembling mine they ordered 20 cases, only because they told me that was the best and easiest case they ever worked with.

the 800d is awesome case, it has been without a doubt one of the easiest build cases that I have ever done, the only thing is to replace all the fans, the stock one are annoyingly loud and low air flow, if you are on a budget buy the 700d and cut a window yourself if you feel the need, the 800d is a watercooling case as well its definately the one to have for that!

I wouldn't say the 700D is the budget case it is the case many others want without hot swap which many of us wouldn't make much use of and the side window which having had one for a while has lost all it's novelty for me and many others. Having gone into cases a far bit in the last few months looking for the one i would purchase the corsairs while a tad expensive offer the best compromise between appearence, functionality and price. Lian li make some great cases but they tend to cost more then i personally think they are worth and are not without their faults. Given the obsidians were corsairs first cases i think they have gotten off to a good start and will rectify some of the faults with them in the next generation.
