Why is the Powercolor R9 290X not suitable for mining?

What does that mean? Surely if its not suitable for mining its not suitable for gaming either then?

Im not looking to buy one of these im just curious why they say that about it, cant see anywhere else that says that about this graphics card thats all.

Mining will properly stress a card in its entirety.
So it'll be at the absolute peak of the power draw, it goes past what powercolour have as the "peak".

Theoretically it could happen in gaming I guess.

It's been alluded to that a BIOS could fix it.
