So i've just come back from town after spending £100 on windows 7 only to find that after the install when it asks for the product key it says its invalid. Ive typed it in 5 times to no prevail, it says on the package that this windows 7 is designed as a upgrade from vista. is this the issue here?

this happens with a fresh windows 7 install. put the install disk back in and reinstall windows 7 ontop of your previous install. this should fix the problem when you come to enter the key

Are you upgrading from Vista or have you put the disc in and started to install from a blank drive.

£100 for only a windows 7 upgrade version

You can buy the windows 7 full retail version for that price..

There are one or two notable improvements, but it is a large shift. To make the desktop feel more like a table/phone seems like a risky move and where did Start Menu -> Search go... Do they really expect users to click several times to find the right "standard application" to then actually open and use it?! On 7 to open command prompt simply WIN key / Ctrl Esc and then type "cmd" enter... Windows 8 seems to have made it far more complex for the same end result..!

Yeah, on Windows 8 there's so many more steps, you have to press the "WIN key", type "cmd" and press enter... oh wait, it's exactly the same :p
