Heaven Benchmark v2.1

FPS:
44.5
Scores:
1121
Min FPS:
3.8
Max FPS:
85.6

1. Why is the scores so low ?
2. Why is the Min FPS so low ?

I have this installed on an SSD...with a 1090T (AMD) 3.2GHz overclocked to 4.1GHz; 2000MHz NB Frequency; 8GB 1600MHz RAM (8-8-8-20) and two 5870s in crossfire.

Are the results what they should be for this expensive system ? Or have I configured something wrong ?

Min is so low because it's loading the textures into vram at the start. Let it run through a loop first before benching and you'll see that shoot up.

As for what is should be? Do you have an idea what CF'd 5870s should score at that level of aa/af? I don't really know what they should be getting. I'll admit that looks a little low, but I've been fooled by Heaven benchmarks before, especially with high aa/af...

Aaah cheers man I'll try what you said (run a loop first).

Not totally sure what it's supposed to be on two 5870s...will do some googling. It just looked a little low. I did it again with my NB clocked to 2600MHz instead of 2000Mhz stock and now min FPS is 17. Will try running a loop first though to see if loading into VRAM first improves that further.

Actually considering ditching my two 5870s for one 580 when I can afford it.

Do you play benchmarks? What does it matter what some benchmark says if you can play all your games the way you like?

I have a problem with draw distance...though this isnt so much a FPS problem. Walk forward, something appears, take a step back it disappears. It gets really annoying after a while. Tried installing on the SSD and it still does it so it's not that.

Hmph :(

graphics cards draw, in varying quality, what they are TOLD to draw. Textures popping in and out of view is entirely, completely down to the engine. How effectively maybe AA/AF is applied to things in the distance can be effected by things like mipmap detail's but pop up is down to game engine design and where they want it to be.

Not sure what xfire 5870's should get in Haven, but I believe its around what you'd expect from a single 5970, which is either 1400 or 2400, can't remember which :p Also depends on tesselation level, normal/extreme setting.

The minimum fps makes incredibly little difference from recollection to the actual score, you're talking about a few points, the min fps only happens for a split second basically.
