That's why no one gives a toss that they're disappearing. They won't be missed.
Megaupload was just the start, we all know what is coming next.
It needs to end.
As I said, most people have never heard of them. They occupy a darker corner of the Internet. They're a throw back to the 1990's web in some ways. Black background web pages, DoubleClick style advertising, popup boxes galore, countdown clocks before your download begins. All things associated with malware infestations. This is just the start, watch what is going to happen to the sharing sites. All of them is coming to an end, fast.
Do you think people will stop using them because they might get shut down and the server details and etc could be passed on to find people downloading copyrighted material?
This is just the start, watch what is going to happen to the sharing sites. All of them is coming to an end, fast. To end all of this digital issues streaming services need to come stronger and cheaper. Internet lines must upgrade and available everywhere.
Digital revolution is starting right now.
I think you might be thinking of the wrong site NathanE. Pretty much anyone who is or isn't a PC junkie will have heard of or used Megaupload before.
I wish you would stop spurting crap. Torrenting is just as vulnerable to having anybody upload anything, so is Newsgroups.
Torrent sites will go too you just watch this space.
Maybe the "revolution" will be that the newbies of the Internet finally discover BitTorrent and Usenet. Rather than pay out for premium accounts on these silly 1990's-throwback virus-infested file hosting sites.
Nothing stopping megaupload still setup the site is there? As long as it stay legit
Other than the "board" being arrested and/or "on the run" and all their assets frozen...![]()
