Why no MOT reminder?

You get a reminder about your tax and insurance renewal. So why not when your MOT is about to expire?

Just discovered I've been driving my car with no valid MOT for the last 3 weeks.:o Only got myself to blame. Surprised I didn't get pulled over.

Car booked in for this Saturday.
 
I agree & also wonder how many people are going to check there MOT now. :p
 
I drove the Jaguar for like 6 weeks with no MOT, just never realised.

When realised got it done straight away!

Should definetely be a reminder for MOT's! What is the punishment for driving a car with no MOT, points, life in jail, execution?
 
i went to a garage once who send me an MOT reminder every year for a car i haven't owned for 4 years.
 
My Garage sends me a reminder that the MOT is due :) Handy!
Not that reminders always help me, still managed to forget about my TAX last year and missed a month :eek:

Haha!

The Jaguar with MOT and work required was about £120, it needed a new pair of steering gators fitted and something else, just wear and tear bits. Its a great car, keeps on going. :)
 
Actually the place I went to this year for mine gave me a keyring with a reminder date which I thought was nice. Lost it though :(
 
i spotted mine 3 days before it needed it completely by chance, i saw the sticker in the glove boo take the hoda to work.. , i had to work for a day.. what a shame! :p
 
My local indy always sends out a reminder for both of our cars but I also have the dates set as an alarm on my phone. Did this a few years ago after the MOT on my wifes car lapsed and for me life was not worth living when she found out that she had been driving the car without an MOT.
