I currently have the Optima 1080ST 2m away from my screen for over 100" image. Been looking for a 4k projector everywhere but nothing comes close to its throw ratio. Every 4k one needs at least 4m!!
Thanks for that, I'll take a look Although at that price I think I'm better off waiting. I'm sure more short throw models will become available. They are available, if you have the money. Dell do the S718QL for £4400, for instance.
Due to how our room is situated I have to put it on a low tripod, it's sound output however is rubbish so I end up with wires going everywhere with a mains power in, a 5mtr HDMI to connect to the NOWTV box which also has Netflix & terrestrial channels, another lead to the sound system which is near where I sit as I'm rather deaf. It's a fiddle to set it up compared to the long throw types you can fit on a shelf and leave it there
I have a w1080st and have been keeping an eye out. I think benq will be announcing a 4k one soon. I can’t remember where I read it , somewhere on avsforum (USA).
This is what I'm waiting for https://www.benq.eu/en-uk/projector/cineprime-home-cinema/w2700.html - especially considering it will support HLG which will be great for those BBC UHD broadcasts.
Discussion on this projector as you say can be found on the avsforum - https://www.avsforum.com/forum/68-d...000-usd-msrp/3021904-benq-2700-announced.html
I currently have a BenQ W1070 and pretty sure the W2700 will be it's replacement due to similar throw ratios, can't wait to get it!
The Korean company is set to unveil its second-generation CineBeam Laser 4K projector (model HU85L)
LG CineBeam Laser 4K can be placed a little more than 2-inches from the wall to project a 90-inch diagonal image. Move to 7-inches away and the projector produces a much larger and still bright 120-inch image.
I got fed up of waiting for a decently priced 4k short throw and went the 1080p option with the Viewsonic PX706HD, Its turned out to be a bit of a corker for my living room gaming using Xbox1X/PS4PRO
Highly recommended

Are there any decent 4k short throw projectors available on the market in the UK yet that will work for gaming and movies?
I'm moving house soon (hopefully anyway!) and really like the idea of getting a short throw projector for a cinema room However I would want to use it for gaming and films and the input lag issue mentioned above seems to have killed this idea in terms of gaming
Am I overthinking this? I wouldn't be playing FPS games. It's more likely to be a mix of Switch/PC games such as Mario Kart, Witcher 3, Zelda RDR2 etc. Would the input lag be an issue here?
