Hi People, screen real estate that's what I am talking about and that is what I am looking for!
It would appear that there is a very real niche in ze UK market for a smartphone with a 4.3" screen. Sure we have the HD2 on an OS that will surely become redundant very soon & the dell house, sorry I mean streak.
But other than that there is nothing, anyone know if the Droid X will make it over here, seems unlikley as the Milestone 2 has just been released. Don't want the Samsung Galaxy X and I am in serious danger of getting the streak and walking around with a bluetooth headset like a plum for 18 mnths.
Anyone offer a heads up on something around the corner??

I started a very similar thread on this too. Its it rumoured that the HTC Desire HD will sport a 4.3. I also hear that "they" are very close to fully porting Android to the HD2 very soon.

Interesting.... any guesses as to when? Do you think they will launch before the end of the year? My contract is up now and I have a battered E71 & I am very much looking forward to turning it into a paper weight.

I must admit, the phone seemed HUGE to begin with, but now that is what I love about it!!

Afraid not guys :(
It's the same as a Verizon phone sim-free (CDMA).
It will only works on the Sprint network.

I want the droidx, it's a shame that the US is getting all this Android love, I wanted an EVO, but now I want the droidx but it's not going to happen is it :(

Surely most decent phones now-a-days are multi-band and 3g compatible, so you can just buy an unlocked USA one and stick a UK sim in?

Nope, it can only be used on certain networks (I forget the names) and this question pops up every other day :p I should get an answer and keep it in my desktop clipboard ^_^

I clearly said UNLOCKED, even Apple sell unlocked iPhones ... and they are Apple

I know, pretty sure it doesn't matter if it's unlocked or not, since the Evo 4G uses the CDMA band only and the UK uses GSM (sim card).

Not to mention there is different network types, frequency's, etc

For the 28389238989439th time, the HTC Evo runs on a CDMA network which doesn't require a SIM card. Doesn't matter for toffee even if you somehow got a Sprint contract, you wouldn't be able to use it in the UK because we only have GSM networking.
