Why not remake old games?

I agree on not remaking FF7 !UNLESS! they added more content, such as new locations, magic, summons, monsters, side quests and such then i would buy that right away!

nooooo, think of the phrase "if it's not broke, dont fix it", i reckon any changes to that game would be bad, it's such an epic piece of gaming history that to change it would be an absolute tragedy!

Perhaps make a FF7 part 2 like they did with 10...but not **** it up like they did with X-2 but by no means should they ever change the original

Exactly this. I'd be mightily ticked off if they changed a single thing - if I had my way, they'd still have the half-arsed translations, with Barret swearing in symbols every chance he gets. I've still not figured out of holding the shoulder buttons really refills your stamina in the chocobo races or if it's just a legend, but I'm pretty sure if it ever did then it doesn't in the PSP version.

Edit: Also, I'd love another might & magic game. Not HOM&M, but the old school M&M 4-party series. The latest just felt like a copypasta of Elder Scrolls technology.

As the subject says, why not?

Some good stuff from capcom has gone up on the psn from a personal point of view, the online networks/stores are an easy point of sale.

There will allways be your people that pretty buy everything, and the niche that'll buy the hd remakes is huge.

Costs on the developers end, maybe licences, i don't know. Huge money to be made from sales though, hard to imagine EA or whoever not making a tidy sum reguardless of issues withstanding.

The mid to late 90's consoles/games are prime market... all those 20/30 somethings with cash to burn, time and want to play... wanting to play hd versions of those now yucky looking ps/sat/n64 titles they loved so much.

Hard to imagine there's not some marketing buff not thinking the same thing.
