can't people spell the word weird. My word it is so annoying, I see it everyday, everywhere, the english cannot spell the word....it is WEIRD not WIERD.

because people have i before e except after c drummed into them in primary school.

Why on earth do people insist on making threads about random spelling/grammar mistakes, I propose a thread be made..

The best way to do that is too correct them as it comes but time after time, all people seem to do is get annoyed and have a go at the person that has misspelt a word instead of correcting them.

Dunno.
There's plenty of easy words that get spelled wrong.

For example until the age of 27 I used "suprise" instead of "surprise", and I'm reasonably well educated (in theory!). A Quick search reveals I used it in 34 different threads since the last purge.
